In 2016, Lancel is celebrating 140 years of creation and innovation, including such emblematic designs as the bucket bag and soft-sided travel bag.
To kick off this celebratory year, the Maison is unveiling a new canvas inspired by the Lancel archives: the “Iconic” collection.
Creative Director Nicole Stulman, has reinterpreted the Maison’s Art Deco motif, which was first revealed on the engraved metal lighters for which Albert Lancel, son of founder Angèle, was awarded a grand prize at the 1937 Universal Exposition, held at the Paris landmark, the Palais de Chaillot. This motif would subsequently appear on items of jewelry, several bags and other Lancel articles.
Called the “revolving L,” the motif has been intensified by Lancel red to convey the House’s image for 2016: colorful and modern.
It also exists in cognac and in midnight blue for men. Midnight blue is the color featured on three urban designs: a portfolio, a tote and a mini cross body bag, all with interiors conceived and equipped for optimum functionality. For women, the iconic canvas graces a tote, a bowling bag and a mini bowling bag, all of which are available in two color choices, Lancel red and cognac.
Experts in the art of adventures and escapades since its founding, Lancel is also rounding out the collection with a folding picnic back-pack as well as a range of iPad®* and iPhone®* portfolio cases.
